go to hell

A rather shocking, yet endearing textual "high-five" or meme. Usually said from one well-versed Textizen to another, or from Ray to just about anyone, it can be quite disturbing for the Joyuerphyte when first read. Because of this, up yer kilt (see below) has generally been used in combination or instead of this phrase over the past two years, but they do often appear right next to each other, because they each carry a slightly different cultural meaning.

Origin, as described by Ray

up yer kilt

Introduced by the same founding customer of TextDrive, Ray, as the immortal "go to hell" phrase, on 9/7/05, up yer kilt is another irreverent textual "high-five" or meme between members of the TextDrive community. If you imagine the Budwiser advertising campaign joke "whassssupppppppp" and the people typing it laughing while they type it, you're going in the right direction.

"Up yer kilt to 'go to hell'"

tacos

Jason Hoffman has a well documented taste for tacos, as do quite a few of the TextDrive forum regulars.

TextPanel

TextPanel was a project that promised to make everything easy, one-click, and pretty. For years, TextDrive users had to suffer using webmin, which is a very useful, but ugly, somewhat complicated, and sometimes slow way to make configuration changes to a webhosting account. TextPanel (a conjugation of TextDrive and control panel) turned out to be vaporware as a seperate project, and was abandoned in favor of recommitting those efforts towards better integration of existing products, services, and new offerings.

David Young explaining the cancelling of the TextPanel project

"Don't be an asshole."

In short, this can be described as the "one rule" that originated with Jason Hoffman, and is (or at least was) TextDrive's corporate motto. It is believed that this originated with Jason's PhD advisor, however, no written proof can currently be found.
